PukkaTech front body support for McLaren F1 mini-z bodies

PukkaTech first product launch is something all mini-z users were anxiously looking for: the front chassis-to-body shell support for the number 1 body shell amongst MM users: the McLaren F1.

No more buying body shells just to take the front support, messing with temporary fixes or the worst, fall from a race due to it failing while racing.

The stock plastic part weakness was quickly noticed here at Sevizeta, where even top-class drivers (those that almost never run into things :) broke them too often. They loved the McLaren body track performance, but pointed out that its weakness was a serious handicap in competition, were you can get hit by others.

Thorough Design and Manufacturing

PukkaTech’s birth motivation was providing parts to fill actual voids in the market, or replacements for bad-performing already existing parts. So we had to do it, and do it right.

Final Design CAD Prototype

So we designed it first on a CAD system, then virtually stress-tested and analyzed several design and material variations using a FEM system until we were satisfied with the results.

Once we reached the final design, final manufacturing of the part was ordered to a precision CNC machining center, using 7075 T6 aluminum, the most strong and lightweight alloy. It only weights 3.1g (0.1oz). Stock part weights about 1.6g.

Prices

One of the first project criteria was price had to be the most competitive, and similar to other front body alloy holders that had been in the market.
